I’m back from a fantastic month in New York and ready to rock! I met some great musicians in NYC and had some profound experiences in upstate NY with time on a yoga retreat. All musicians should check out piano player extraordinaire Kenny Werner’s book “Effortless Mastery” (Liberating the master musician within)…he’s an amazing musician with a depth and touch that can transport you into a magical space.

DV8 are back in action and planning and rehearsing some new songs for future gigs. We’ve also recently brought back Close Contact and Fire in Cairo from the Bel-Air days and all of the echo songs from our “Can You Hear Me” album.

The solo shows are frequent and varied with a mix of covers and originals from DV8, Hot Yogis and Jigzag days as well as some new originals being tested soon. Jigzag will be coming back together for the magical Wintermoon Spring Festival Sept 21-23 in Qld just outside Mackay. Keep an eye out for a few Hot Yogis shows this year too.

Looking forward to our DV8 double-header with Mental As Anything at Warners Bay Hotel on August 11th too.

This year DV8 has had some enthusiastic crowds both at the Wicko and Stockton Bowlo. We have shows coming up at Cessnock Hotel on Thursday March 1st and Pelican RSL on Sat March 3rd. Also we’re back at the Premier on Sunday arvo March 18th.

The Irish duo with myself and Michael Hawke on flute, whistles, harmonica, mandolin and vocals will be doing it’s annual Irish jigs, reels and songs for St Pats Day on Saturday March 17th. Firstly at Harrigans at Pokolbin with the Irish dancers from 12-3pm and then later at Jewells Tavern from about 8pm.

Lots of solo and duo shows too which are on my gig list up until May when I’m away again for a month.

You’re invited to my birthday bash at the Wicko Friday October 27th with Hot Yogis. Len Samperi on bass and Robbie Long on drums and dobro along with yours truly….

Also I’ve uploaded a couple more of my songs performed with Jigzag onto Youtube which you can view on this site.

Not long now and DV8 will be appearing at Live at the Foreshore. We’ll be onstage early about 12pm lunchtimeish and just 20 minutes of music. Lots of other great bands on the bill and stay tune for future gigs by the foreshore for the V8 Supercars.

Here we are in the cold months and DV8 will be heating up a couple of venues in June. Sunday 11th we’re outside on the wharf at Queens Wharf Brewery from 2-5pm. Saturday 24th DV8 will rock the Redhead Bowlo from 8-11pm.

It was a huge night opening with our special guests “All Access 80s” getting the crowd dancing. Tickets sold out on the night and it was great to feel the love and enthusiasm in the room. Lots of images from Tracey Keogh and Craig Wilson captured this energy. The night was filmed by Yianni and crew so expect to see a track from that on youtube soon. Thank you so much to Mal McEwan and PA crew and to Chris Varley and all at EAO for promo etc.belmont-16s-dv8-tracey-kdv8-belmont-16s-2017-gw-and-gb-newcastle-livedv8-belmont-16s-2017-crowd-shotdv8-belmont-16s-2017-crowd-shot
